Vallourec to pay antidumping duty to China for seamless pipe

French pipe producer Vallourec has announced that, in the antidumping duty investigation regarding seamless steel pipes by China, the company's arguments have been considered and the antidumping duty for its products has been adjusted downwards from 17.8 percent to 13 percent.

Vallourec indicated that the procedure only concerns a part of its range of products sold for conventional power plants, which currently represent much less than one percent of the company's sales. The nuclear segment is not affected by this proceeding. In total, Vallourec's sales to China represented less than three percent of its total sales in 2013.

As NCTV previously reported, in the past week China's Ministry of Commerce announced a final antidumping duty ranging between 13 percent and 14.1 percent for certain seamless pipe imports from the EU and the US.
