A flange is a method of connecting pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment to form a piping system. Flanges are usually attached to the ends of tubes and fastened by bolts or screws. They can also be used to join two ends of a single pipe together without an internal joint.
Flanges are typically made from metal alloys such as cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel or nickel alloys. Metal flanges can be made with different kinds of finishes, including galvanized or ungalvanized surfaces with different types of protective coating.
Steel flanges are commonly used in industrial settings because they're easy to install and replaceable when damaged. However, they're not suitable for use in applications that require high pressure or high temperatures (such as steam).
Pipe flanges are designed to be installed on the pipe so that they can be welded or bolted down. The pipe can then be attached to other components within a system using bolts or welding. The size of the flange determines how much pressure can be applied before it fails. Flanges of different sizes can withstand different amounts of pressure depending on their design and construction.
When you purchase a pipe flange, it comes with an ANSI standard thread size stamped on it — usually 1/2" or 3/4". This means that it will fit any other ANSI standard threaded pipe you have available (such as alloy steel tubing). To connect two pipes together, simply thread one end of each pipe into each end of your new pipe flange, then tighten them down with a wrench by turning clockwise until they're securely attached.
Different flanges have different prices, however, the price of stainless steel flanges is not a roaming price, with its production process, brand, etc. being very relevant, the price is different.
